In the name of love

In the name of love, love in the name of peace that's what i believe in. This photograph was captured at Old Fort, New Delhi. Though it carries a long history behind, but nowadays its a safest place to make-out. That's where young delhites feel comfortable, in the crowded city like Delhi. After roaming around the fort for 3 hours this was the couple whom i was quite intrigued to. Away from world, only love follows them. What motivated me the most to take the photograph was locked hands of the couple- which represent the strength & unity and not to say moving toward light.....

Secular Voices - a film on five years of Gujarat Riots

SECULAR VOICES "Gar ho sake to ab koi shamma jalaiye, is daur-e-siyasat ka andhera mitaiye"
The Bhartiya Janta party has been spreading hatred for last two decades. And the flames of their politics of hatred have now spread from Gujarat to many parts of the country over past five years. It is paramount that the youth of this country is inspired to join in this crusade against communalism. Secular Voices is an attempt to nullify the impact of the rise of the fascist forces. It castigates the BJP for its inflammatory references to Muslims in Gujarat. Such references led to carnage that followed the Godhra tragedy. The message of the film is very simple… STOP HATE.. Hatred and bigotry are not acceptable. 27 celebrities of India, of international fame like:
Rajdeep Sardesai Barkha Dutt Indian Ocean Pankaj Pouchory Shubha Mudgal Tarun J Tejpal Yogender yadav Zohra Sehgal Nandita Das Nafisa Ali......... have joined hands with us in this crusade against hatred and bigotry. We also understand that we cannot wipe out the hatred in one single day but it's just an attempt to reach the silent minds. Produced By Zabeeh Afaque and Mir Basit Hussain for Anhad (Act Now for Harmony And Democracy)

INNOCENT BEAUTY

This still might sound simple to you, but it really means a lot to me. This child came to see National Video Film Festival at my College. Films & Film makers might sound awkward to him at this age , but for Photographers his smile cannot. Since this film festival was around 200Km away from town, this kid and many like him might never thought of a camera or the big screens or the projector. For them their Fields fully laden with Wheat is a matter of happiness, and Harsh sun looks like a treat to them. When we think of working its 10am to 10pm (Night shifts are exceptions) , and yes its sometimes when our watch tells us Baby its high time to sleep, for these kids its just the Sunlight which tells them its a new day.... Life is so different in 100km radius........

THE GLARE THAT OBSCURES

There are two kinds of light - the glow that illuminates, and the glare that obscures. James Thurber (1894 - 1961)

Breathing in open Sky!!!

This photo was also taken while on a documentary shoot. intention was to take the Sun behind the bud,but its more appealing hiding the mergers. This still also allow us to think about the Female Foeticide which is nowadays spreading rapidly in our country.you will be surprised to know that only 25,770 ultrasound machines are registered with the Government, estimates say the actual numbers are three times over, spawning an industry of female foeticide worth $100 million. Estimates say around three lakh girls were eliminated before birth by sex selective abortions as of 2001. please stand against it else one day our generation next Will have A WORLD WITHOUT WOMEN!!! Dark Wood

This photograph is all about the dark wood behind lights. we pass through this passage almost everyday yet nobody even thought of capturing through lens. This is the difference between us & rest. "we see through LENS what others cant see with naked eyes"

Miles to go before i sleep!!!!

This still was also taken while the Strengthening project with OXFAM in lucknow. Though she was not a student in the school, but she hangs around with the kids eat, play, and sing... This extreme close-up gives the details about her life and hope. Especially eyes...White Jeweled Eyes

MDM (My Dishes Made)

The girls sitting in foreground of the still was the most silent girl in the school when i visited this school for the documentation process in lucknow under OXFAM. The students are sitting in the well organised way to have their "MID DAY MEAL-MDM-MY DISHES MADE", But the govt is giving Rs.2/- per child..... which can only afford two puri and sabzi... Can hunger be wiped out in Rs.2/- for a kid... Look at the faces can they be satisfied in Rs.2/- or Two Puri's..... Then why this shamefull token for hunger!!!!! please comment!!!! I AM LOVING IT

In this photo the organised way of children having the "menu based" mid day meal which is free into the govt schools in India is shown. Now when the intervention made by the NGO's in Lucknow which are funded by OXFAM... the quality and quantity is improved in these schools. They are regulated and moderated by these NGO's..... I have given it a new name .... "MY DISHES MADE" Zabeeh Media Activist' Blog

I AM ALSO BEAUTIFULL

For us its just a mirror but for some its reason to go to school..... This is the mirror put on in a govt primary school in Lucknow where this is the added value in the personality of the students as the students look more tidy and confident ... they also come to school early just to comb their hairs and get ready for prayer (pic below) This picture is taken while on a project of OXFAM in Lucknow.

LET ME HELP YOU

This photo is from the OXFAM PROJECT OF STRENGTHENING GOVT SCHOOLS this photo shows the phase of the schools which is at present much different from what it used to be. Earlier there teachers were coming to school at or after 11am....so naturally the concept of morning prayer i.e. assembly is wiped out (smoothly), But now intervention of NGO's in Primary schools which are govt operated have really made a change in there standard. so this photo shows a school of Lucknow which is located in slum in which one student is helping another student to get ready for prayer...
